This is a short orchestral piece of the duration of circa 6 minutes. It was composed in its first version in Kyiv in 1987, and then revisited in Boston in 1999. Its end-of-century sonorities evoke fabled landscapes, with echoes to Wagner and Richard Strauss, making it a suitable enrichment to concert programs featuring German music.

 

This recording is from a recent September 19, 2025 performance by the Ukrainian National Symphony, conductor Volodymyr Sirenko. The concert program at the National Philharmonic in Kyiv included J.S.Bach, E.Elgar, and R.Strauss.
