Gli Uccelli Verdi to the text of Italian poet Diego Valeri:
for 24 voices a cappella.

One of my most challenging pieces, here I have tried to combine hyperpoliphony and atonality with the smoothest possible voice leading.

I don't think it should give too much trouble for the singers, as it may appear at the first glance. The piece has not yet been performed.

gli uccelli verdi possono stare
cheti sui rami, senza cantare,
come foglie che sono, con le zampe d'argento.

Perché mi sei presso, coi tuoi chiari incanti,
con la tua pace di umano fiore
così mi stanno sospesi sul cuore,
ad ali chiuse, i miei muti canti".
